CHAPEL HISTORY

The first Mass for the St. Therese parish was celebrated by Fr. Goettler in 1986, in the local Town Hall.  In 1989 the Mass center was moved to a temporary chapel which was located on the property of one of the parishioners. There were about 50 parishioners at this time.

The construction of the current church building began in October of 1997 and the first Mass was celebrated in this building on Christmas of 1999.

Attendance at Mass in January 2000 peaked at 170 parishioners.

Construction continued on the church with the completion of the sanctuary and nave flooring, and the addition of new altars as shown in the picture above.

The academy was started in 1986 in a parishioner's for a handful of a students. Construction on the present school building was begun in Fall 1989 by 5 parishioners, and opened in 1992 with nearly 20 students.  The school currently has almost 50 students.
